<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant base oil satisfying viscosity-temperature characteristics, low temperature viscosity characteristics, and flashing point characteristics in a good balance at high levels, a method for producing the same and a lubricant composition containing the above lubricant base oil. <P>SOLUTION: This lubricant base oil is provided by having a≤4 mass% urea adduct value, 25 to 50 mm<SP>2</SP>/s dynamic viscosity at 40°C,≥140 viscosity index,≤15,000 mP×s CCS viscosity at -35°C and≥250°C flashing point. Also, the method for producing the lubricant base oil is provided by comprising a process of performing the hydrocracking/hydroisomerization of raw material oil containing a n-paraffin so that the obtained treated material has the≤4 mass% urea adduct value, 25 to 50 mm<SP>2</SP>/s dynamic viscosity at 40°C,≥140 viscosity index,≤15,000 mP×s CCS viscosity at -35°C and≥250°C flashing point.
