<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate simulation of a numerical control machine controlled by a programmable controller. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The programmable controller comprises an internal output element to operate in conjunction with an external output element and a sequence program with a simulation control logic incorporated therein for providing, in conjunction with operation of the internal output element, a virtual input value to an external input element to be changed in status afterwards when an ON/OFF status of the external output element is changed. A control system comprises an I/O interception instructing means for instructing the programmable controller not to operate all external relays corresponding to the external output element and not to let the external input element read an ON/OFF status of an external contact point when a simulation instruction is given. The control system also comprises a simulation control logic activating means for instructing the programmable controller to activate the simulation control logic after the instruction by the I/O interception is executed when a simulation instruction is given.
