PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which efficiently prepares a preview image or thumbnail image of a manuscript image for display. SOLUTION: When the preview image and/or thumbnail image is prepared based on image data of a plurality of sheets of manuscript read by a scanner part 4, a composite device 1 prepares the preview image and/or thumbnail image of the manuscript read by the scanner part 4 before starting to read the next sheet of manuscript, stores it in a memory, and displays it as it is by use of the preview image and/or thumbnail image stored in the memory upon preview display. Accordingly, it is possible to maintain productivity while it is possible to read the image of the manuscript, and it is also possible to swiftly display the preview image and/or thumbnail image.
