<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cleaning apparatus with increased absorbing amount and enhanced absorption efficiency, and improved sustainability of deodorizing effect. <P>SOLUTION: The gas cleaning apparatus is provided with a liquid having dissolvability of gaseous components in gas and a porous membrane hydrophobic to the liquid, and is provided with a gas cleaning part wherein the gas is brought into contact with the liquid via the porous membrane, and only the gaseous components in the gas are passed through the porous membrane to dissolve them into the liquid to clean the gas. The gas cleaning part is composed by stackingly disposing a gas flow part for passing the gas and a liquid flow part for passing the liquid, and by disposing the porous membrane between the gas flow part and liquid flow part, the porous membrane being hydrophobic and the liquid being water.
