<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an imaging quality and to extend a service life by improving releasing performance of electrophotographic fixing members, maintaining mechanical properties, and repairing mechanical damages. <P>SOLUTION: A fuser roll 1 includes a base member 4 and an external surface 2 on the base member 4. An intermediate layer may be disposed between the base member 4 and the external surface 2. At least the external surface 2 or intermediate layer contains a healing material encapsulated within nano- or microcapsules. Using the healing material emitted from the nano- or microcapsules, the fuser roll 1 is corrected, thereby retaining the function of the fuser roll 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
