<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array substrate that reduces probability of occurrence of light leakage and a "touch mora" phenomenon on displaying an image and improves the display effect of a liquid crystal display device, and to provide a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The array substrate to be used by compounding with a liquid crystal layer comprises a substrate, and pixel electrodes, signal lines and light-shielding strips provided on the substrate, in which the light-shielding strip is provided below a side face of the signal line and is separated from the signal line by the substrate. A refractive strip is provided on a side face of the signal line, positioned above a slit between the light-shielding strip and the signal line, and is disposed in the same layer as the pixel electrode. The refraction strip is used to deflect a beam coming from the light-shielding strip side through the substrate and the refractive strip to exit to the liquid crystal layer, into a direction toward the signal line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
