PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode structure having a sufficient heat dissipation effect even in a miniaturized electrode. SOLUTION: On a rear end surface of the body portion 3, a ceramic cylinder 5 is provided so that its end surface 5a contacts therewith. The ceramic cylinder 5 is composed of a material having a thermal conductivity and a heat emissivity higher than those of the body portion 3, thus heat of a top end of the electrode can be efficiently dissipated. Further, an outer wall of the ceramic cylinder 5 has a tapered shape, thereby high-speed fluid of arc jet collided with the top end of the positive electrode flows stably along an outside surface of the electrode body and the heat dissipation member, so that it can flow smoothly to ends of an arc tube.
