<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine start switch capable of arranging a portable machine at a place accessible to the optimum position corresponding to the design of various kinds of model or diversified instrument panels. <P>SOLUTION: The engine start switch comprises an engine start switch body 100, and a fitting mechanism 200 for fitting the engine start switch body 100 at the predetermined position of an instrument panel 3. The fitting mechanism 200 comprises a sleeve 210 to be fitted to and inserted in an outer circumferential part of the engine start switch body 100, and a movable snap 220 which slides with respect to the sleeve 210 and is fixed to the predetermined position.
