PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost fire alarm powered by a battery and to which a gas detection function can be added as necessary at anytime. SOLUTION: The fire alarm 2, which detects and warns of a fire, has a smoke detection unit 6 for detecting smoke, a speaker 10 for sounding an alarm to the outside, and a battery 11 with a battery capacity compatible with the replacement period of the fire alarm 2. Further, the fire alarm 2 has a battery 14 that is independent of the battery 11, and a recess 7c where a carbon monoxide detection unit 3 that needs to be replaced earlier than the fire alarm 2 can be removably installed.
