IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS USING LASER LIGHT SOURCE AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing effect of a speckle pattern to a display image in an image display apparatus using a laser light source.

SOLUTION: This image display apparatus using the laser light source includes a light modulating part for modulating a laser beam emitted from the laser light source to image light representing a frame image, and a light modulation signal generating part for generating a light modulation signal for driving the light modulating part according to an image signal for updating the frame image in a fixed cycle. The light modulation signal generating part inserts noise in the light modulation signal while the timing of updating the frame image is kept in a fixed cycle.
