PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device which can understand setting items so as to enable to designate a suitable measuring condition even if an operator is unfamiliar to operation. SOLUTION: The measuring device comprises a measuring condition designation part 11 (measuring condition designation screen) which designates the measuring condition which should be set, a control part which displays, on display part, a message display part 12 (message display screen) which displays a help message about the measuring condition, and a memory which stores message data of the help message. The memory which stores, while corresponding to the designated measuring condition, data which can display a help message corresponding to each measuring condition as message data. The control part which displays the help message on the message display part 12 by reading the message data corresponding to the designated measuring condition from the memory, when the measuring condition is designated at the measuring condition designation part 11.
