<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, which are capable of reducing the capacity of necessary memory upon carrying out image processing with respect to partial image data. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes a codec 23 which includes decryption unit 41, which decodes coded data ED, in which the image data of one frame are coded by JPEG (joint photographic experts group) strategy, to produce decoded data DD, and a data transfer unit 43 which selects a partial image data PD from the decoded data DD to store the partial image data PD into a memory 13. Further, the image processing apparatus includes a resolution converting processing unit 24 which applies enlarging/reducing processing on the partial image data PD read out of the memory 13 and stores enlarged/reduced image data MD after the enlarging/reducing processing into the memory 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
