PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering apparatus for a water tank for aquarium fish that silences tapping of filtered water on rearing water, secures dissolved oxygen in rearing water and makes an oil film difficult to be formed on the water surface by automatically keeping the position of an ejection port of an ejecting pipe portion appropriate relative to the level of rearing water. SOLUTION: In the filtering apparatus 21 for a water tank for aquarium fish for causing filtered water F from an ejection port 26o of the ejecting pipe 26 to flow back into the water tank for aquarium fish, a height-adjusting mechanism 25 is provided for adjusting the height of the ejection port 26o of the ejecting pipe 26 to the water level L of the rearing water B according to the water level L of the rearing water B in the water tank for aquarium fish.
