<p>A composite material includes a non-polar polymer and alumina hydrate particulate. The composite material has a Heat Distortion Performance of at least about 10% relative to the non-polar polymer absent the alumina hydrate particulate. The composite material may include a coupling agent including a phosphinic acid group, a phosphonic acid group or an ester derivative thereof.</p>
