PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic material having excellent exposure resistance and corrosion resistance, and to provide a method for stably and easily producing the metallic material. SOLUTION: The exposureg resistant SUS316-equivalent steel subjected to a solution treatment at 1,373K for 30 min. is subjected to a thermomechanical treatment for holding in the temperature range of 1,380K-1,420K for≥3 hrs. after applying a cold-rolling at 3% working ratio onto the surface layer, thereby controlling the grain boundary of the exposureg resistant SUS316-equivalent to produce the new intergranular control type exposureg-resistant SUS316-equivalent steel.
