SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SYNTHESIS OF FACE EXPRESSION USING NONLINEAR REGRESSION ANALYSIS

A system and a method for synthesizing face expression using nonlinear regression analysis are provided to synthesize natural and realistic face expression under various lighting conditions. A face image deformation unit(101) deforms a face input image into a preset face expression image by using an active appearance model according to the face learning image. A skin color change model generating unit(102) generates a non-linear skin color change model by calculating a skin color change according to a light direction through nonlinear regression analysis. A face mask generating unit(103) generates a face mask to be synthesized in the face input image by using the generated non-linear skin color change model. An image synthesizing unit(104) synthesizes the face mask by using distance conversion due to a synthesizing area.
