PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back cover for an instrument for a vehicle for reducing squeak sound accompanying vibration, and an instrument for a vehicle having this. SOLUTION: This back cover 2 for the instrument for the vehicle comprises a back cover body 21, and five bosses 22. The back cover body 21 is made of ASG resin (hard material) having a hardness equivalent to or greater than that of a substrate 3. The five bosses 22 are disposed on the inner bottom surface 21a of the back cover body 21. The tip side boss 25 of each boss 22 is made of polypropylene resin.
