PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, data management method and data management program, capable of appropriately cooperating with a document management system outside the apparatus.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a reading means for reading image data from a paper document; a data registering means for registering the image data in a data management means of a computer connected via a network and acquiring a first identification information assigned for the image data by the data management means; an association recording means for assigning a second identification information for each of the first identification information and recording association between the first identification information and the second identification information in a memory device; and a first print control means for combining an identification image indicating an identification information based on the second identification information with the image data and printing the combined data by a printer.
