<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning apparatus capable of efficiently oxidizing a granular substance in an exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine at a temperature area of low temperature and sufficiently regenerating an oxidation activity by applying regeneration treatment utilizing carbon monoxide (CO) contained in the exhaust gas even after poisoned with sulfur. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning apparatus for oxidizing/eliminating the granular substance contained in the exhaust gas is provided with a catalyst carrier containing at least one selected from the group consisting of ceria, titania and zirconia, a catalyst for a CO shift reaction having a noble metal carried on the catalyst carrier and a catalyst containing silver for removing the granular substance. The catalyst for the CO shift reaction is arranged in an upstream side of a gas flow passage circulated with the exhaust gas, and the catalyst for removing the granular substance is arranged in a downstream side of the gas flow passage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
