PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sheet-like recording medium shredding equipment which solves problems of paper jam and read image deterioration resulting from difference between original feed speed of a scanner part and a shredding speed of a shredding part while suppressing size increase of the equipment. SOLUTION: The sheet-like recording medium shredding equipment is provided with: a first conveyance path (first conveyance part 105) which conveys an inserted sheet-like recording medium P; detection means (line sensors 119, 121) provided in the middle of the first conveyance path to detect a type or recorded content of the sheet-like recording medium P under conveyance; a temporary storage part 106 arranged at the end of the first conveyance path; a second conveyance path (second conveyance part 107) which conveys the sheet-like recording medium P in the temporary storage part 106 in the direction positioned at a lower part of the first conveyance path and reserved direction of the conveyance direction by the first conveyance direction; and a shredding means (shredding roller 123) for shredding the sheet-like recording medium P.
