<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve assembly capable of removing or reducing disagreeable noise generated during the engine operation attributable to a gas flow colliding with a stagnation flow in a valve at a subsonic speed. <P>SOLUTION: The valve assembly includes an inlet pipe 10, a discharge pipe 17 including a substantially annular valve seat 14 and a flow passage extending through an inner side of the valve seat 14 and having the minimum throat diameter on the downstream side of the valve seat 14, and a valve 24 which is displaced between the closed position in direct contact with the valve seat 14 and the open position separated from the valve seat 14. The valve 24 includes an insertion body 26 which is located on a part of a flow passage 16 in a state not in contact with the discharge pipe 17 at the closed position. The insertion body 26 has a substantially circular base part 28, and the diameter of the base part 28 is set to be larger than the minimum throat diameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
