PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communications apparatus capable of appropriately dealing with callbacks from an emergency institution, even if an automatic call termination function is included. SOLUTION: A communications apparatus includes a facsimile machine; a telephone set 20; a communication unit 12 that selects a single reception mode between an automatic reception mode for connecting a communication line 21 to the facsimile machine, when there is call termination, and a manual reception mode for connecting the communication line 21 to the telephone set 20, when there is call termination; and a control unit 11 for determining whether call origination due to the telephone set 20 is call origination to a specific partner, and controls to select the manual reception mode for a predetermined time after call origination, when the call origination is determined as being a call origination to the specific partner.
