PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monochromatic toner containing carbon black uniformly dispersed in a core and having a shell so as to prevent the carbon black from influencing on the toner surface. SOLUTION: The monochromatic toner has a core-shell structure showing a dielectric loss tangent of from 10 to 40 at 100 kHz, in which a carbon black having a pH ranging from 2.0 to 7.0 is used as a colorant.
