PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute chromatography under the condition of an eluting solvent in which a sample has appropriate mobility Rf0 without having to previously acquire a rate of change of the mobility Rf of the sample to changes of a mixture ratio of each component in the eluting solvent. SOLUTION: Thin layer chromatography is executed to determine first and second observed values of the mobility Rf of the sample when an eluting solvent containing a plurality of components is used at first and second specific mixture ratios. Determined first and second observed values of the mobility Rf are related to the first and second specific mixture ratios and stored (S2). On the basis of stored first and second observed values, the one-to-one relation between the mobility Rf and the mixture ratio of the eluting solvent is determined (S3). On the basis of determined relation, a mixture ratio of the eluting solvent corresponding to specific mobility Rf0 is computed (S4).
