PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processing machine capable of shortening a time needed for money reception/payment processing. SOLUTION: The bill processing machine comprises a money reception opening for receiving bills S, a money reception unit 15 which separates the bills S received at the money reception opening into sheets and feeds them; a conveyance unit 37 which conveys the bills S; a received money discrimination unit 47 which is provided to the conveyance unit 37 to discriminate whether the bills S are genuine and denominations thereof and also count them; storage units 20b to 22b which receive and store the bills S discriminated by the received money discrimination unit 47 by the denominations; a collection box 17, which collects the bills S stored in the storage units 20b to 22b together at a time; and a control unit which detects the stored amount of the bills S stored in the storage units 20b to 22b reaches a predetermined amount, and is made to convey and store a predetermined number of bills S among the bills S stored in the storage units 20b to 22b in the collection box 17, when the control unit detects the storage amount reaches the predetermined amount.
