A terminal enables the user to easily view the display thanks to display control. A terminal comprises a display device whose display is controllable by a control signal and a terminal body for outputting a display signal to the display device. The terminal further comprises a judging means for judging the use state of the terminal and a control means for setting the frequency of the control signal to a predetermined first frequency if the judging means judges that the use state of the terminal is a specific use state and setting the frequency of the control signal to a second frequency lower than the first frequency if the judging means judges that the use state is other than the specific use state.
