A movable table for serving out food is described, which has an operating position for serving out food, and a transportation position for moving of the table. The movable table comprises at least a first (2a) and a second (2b,2c) module, and a transferring device (6a,b,c), e.g. at least one conveyor belt, for transferring food receptacles from one end of the table to an opposite end thereof. The transferring device is common to the first and second module. In particular embodiments, the first module (2a) and the second module (2b) can be folded with respect to each other.
