<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white balance control device and a control method for achieving precise white balance correction. <P>SOLUTION: The white balance control device divides a picked up image into a plurality of blocks to calculate a first white balance correction value on the basis of color evaluation value by block. Then, for a block corresponding to a face region detected from an image, the first white balance correction value is applied to acquire a skin color evaluation value.
