<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight which can easily and surely realize an improvement in incident light unevenness which is a weak point of a backlight using downward prisms which can attain a high luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight is composed of at least one light source 1, a light guide plate 2 and a prism sheet 21. The prism sheet 21 has prisms of almost triangular cross sectional shapes formed on a rear surface side of a transparent base material and an arrangement direction of the prisms is almost in parallel with a light incident surface 2a of the light guide plate 2 and moreover the prisms are arranged downward to face the light emitting surface 2c of the light guide plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
