PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map generation device for an internal combustion engine reducing time and man-hour for creating and modifying a map to output a torque value with input ignition timing based on a map to output ignition timing with an input torque value. SOLUTION: The map generation device for the internal combustion engine includes a plurality of maps, and includes an ignition timing calculation means output ignition timing with the input torque value and using the plurality of maps, and a torque value calculation means for generating reverse conversion maps of at least part of the plurality of maps to output the torque value with the input ignition timing and using the reverse conversion maps. The ignition timing calculation means is constructed to approximate the torque value output by the torque value calculation means with the input ignition timing output from torque value input to the ignition timing calculation means, and the torque value input to the ignition timing calculation means.
