A fan guard apparatus is provided with a plurality of steel wires arranged in one direction, and a spacer (9), which is attached to the steel wires and maintains prescribed intervals between the steel wires. The spacer (9) is provided with a first arm section (91), which is arranged on one side of each steel wire and has recessed sections (94) at prescribed intervals for partially fitting in the steel wires, respectively. The spacer is also provided with a second arm section (92), which is arranged on the other side of each steel wire and has recessed sections (96) at prescribed intervals for partially fitting in the rest of the parts of the steel wires, respectively. One end of the first arm section (91) is connected to one end of the second arm section (92) by means of a hinge. A claw section (95) of the other end of the second arm section (92) is permitted to latch the other end of the first arm (91).
