A digital image processing apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to manually control a hand-shaking compensation module, thereby moving a location of a subject inside an image to be photographed to a desired location. An image photographing unit(210) comprises an image photographing element and a lens. The image photographing unit photographs an image of a subject. A user input unit(230) produces an input signal from a user. The input signal is applied to a digital signal processor(220). The digital signal processor generates a control signal for controlling a location of the image photographing element and lens. According to the control signal, a hand-shaking compensation module(250) is controlled.
