AIRBAG BREAKING GROOVE FORMING DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF VEHICULAR INTERIOR MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag breaking groove forming device and a manufacturing method of a vehicular interior member capable of forming an airbag breaking groove excellent in invisibility while properly controlling the thickness of the residue of the formed airbag breaking groove even though the vehicular interior member is equipped with a hard base layer.

SOLUTION: The airbag breaking groove forming device includes: a loading base; a breaking groove forming means for forming the airbag breaking groove by causing a metal blade whose blade edge is at least partially flattened to enter from the rear side of the vehicular interior member; first and second metal blade detection means for confirming presence and absence of the metal blade at detection positions with different positions in the thickness direction of a surface layer in such a state that the metal blade enters the vehicular interior member; and a blade edge position determination part for determining whether or not the metal blade is detected by the second metal blade detection means, meanwhile, the first metal blade detection means does not detect the metal blade.
