PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail preventing the injury of a hand by the handrail in case of a height movement, relaxing a falling impact force working to a safety rope even by a fall in case of a height work and having a high safety. SOLUTION: The end sections of horizontal material sections 10 and 11 are sensed by the tactual sense of the hand by bending the shapes of the horizontal material sections 10 and 11 in an inverted U shape and the end sections in a downward smooth curved shape. When a worker falls, an impact force working to the horizontal material sections by the safety rope is relaxed largely by forming the horizontal material sections in the inverted U shape. Through-holes 16 machined to the horizontal material sections are penetrated from the vertical direction to side faces in the horizontal direction, and the concentration of a stress to the under side of the horizontal material sections by the falling impact force is reduced and a rupture is prevented. Holes 14 for a connection to diagonal members 20 and 30 fitted to mounting plates 13 welded at the end sections of the horizontal material 10 and the sliding material 11 are formed in slots, the horizontal material sections 10 and 11 are deformed easily by the impact force and the rupture by the impact force is prevented.
