#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a cable (10) i.e. earth cable, provided with a cable insulation (12), and measuring element (14) i.e. shunt, measuring an electric current flowing via the cable. An electronic system (20) scans the electric current over a signal connection (26). The cable insulation is formed such that the cable insulation partially encloses the measuring element and/or the electronic system. The electronic system and/or the measuring element are arranged in a frame (22) made of plastic. The measuring element is electrically conductively connected with the cable by connecting elements (16, 18). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for determining an electric current flowing a cable i.e. earth cable (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The cable insulation is formed such that the cable insulation partially encloses the measuring element and/or the electronic system, thus protecting the device from environmental influences, such as humidity, and serving the isolation of the electronic system.
