PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a long grass from coiling around a fan for gathering the grass to improve the operation efficiency of mowing operation. SOLUTION: The mower body 2 of the lawn mower 1 has a motor 20, the fan 30 for gathering the grass, nearly horizontally fixed to the lower end part of a rotary shaft 21 of the motor 20 by using a nut 31, the blade 40 attached to the fan 30, and the bottom plate 60 attached to the lower face side of the mower body 2 so as to cover the fan 30 for gathering the grass. The lawn mower 1 mows the grass by turning both of the rotary shaft and the fan 30 for gathering the grass by the motor 20, and mowing the grass taken into the front end part of the bottom plate 60 by the blade 40 turning with the fan 30 for gathering the grass. A protrusion part 37 protruded from the fan 30 for gathering the grass to the bottom plate 60 is formed in the fan 30 for gathering the grass. Even when the long grass is present, the long grass is blocked by the protrusion part 37 hardly allowing the long grass to invade into the vicinity of the center part of the fan 30 for gathering the grass, and to prevent the long grass from coiling around the nut 31 or the like.
