An apparatus and a method for controlling an oxygen generator are provided to vary the flux of oxygen exhausted from the oxygen generator by precisely controlling an oxygen control valve and prevent burnout of respective electric components in the oxygen generator during shutdown by lowering the voltage. An apparatus for controlling an oxygen generator comprises: a power supply part(100) converting a power source supplied from the outside into a power source required in the operation of the oxygen generator; a motor control part(200) controlling the number of revolutions of an air compressor(210); and a control module part(400) which controls the motor control part according to the flux of oxygen generated from an adsorption column and is consisted of a combination of a plurality of individual valves. The apparatus further comprises a temperature sensing part(220) installed in the oxygen generator to sense temperature of compressed air exhausted from the air compressor. The control module part comprises: a main control part(410) including a pressure sensing part(411), an air amount control part(412) an oxygen purity sensing part(413), and a fan control part(414); and a sub control part(420) including a display control part(422) and a shutdown control part(424).
