<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structure torque measuring apparatus capable of accurately measuring a dynamic torque without having sliding members, such as, brush electrode. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The torque measuring apparatus 10 irradiates a laser beam L to a measurement board 11, which is rotated by a laser irradiating apparatus 12, following the rotation of a load axis 22; reflects the laser beam L passing through a slit 11a by a reflector 13d disposed onto the load axis 22; detects positions of traces of light P1, P2 of the laser beam L as the coordinates by a position detection apparatus 14, which has been reflected by the reflector 13d; and calculates a torque by a torque calculation apparatus 24, based on a move amount of the traces of light which move, according to the torque generated at the load axis 22.
