IMAGE QUALITY EVALUATION DEVICE AND METHOD

An image quality evaluation device and a method thereof are provided to calculate measurable data for an image that a human is able to recognize. A chromatic adaption unit(100) generates a chromatic adaptation result for a color region, and a brightness adaption unit(200) generates a brightness adaption result for the color region. A calculation unit(300) calculates the information for the color appearance of the color region by using the brightness adaption result, and a color appearance predictor(400) realizes a color space corresponding to the color region by using the information for the color appearance. The color appearance predictor calculates the definition, view angle property, gradation property and color difference for the color region in the color space.
