<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of packages produced per unit time by a horizontal pillow packaging machine by producing the packages with a gusset on one side while a tubular film is continuously transported. <P>SOLUTION: This horizontal pillow packaging machine includes a bag forming device 23 for tubularly forming a strip-shaped film supplied continuously, a center seal device 26 for sealing the superimposed end 24a of a tubular film 24 tubularly formed, an end seal device 29 for sealing the tubular film in the width direction, and a gusset forming device 40 for forming a gusset on the side face of the tubular film before it is sealed by the end seal device. The end seal device includes a first end seal device 30 for forming a first end seal part with a wide seal and a second end seal device 32 for forming a second end seal part with a narrow seal, relative to the tubular film.
