<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating film-protecting type wet cloth for washing cars, which can minimize inevitable scratches capable of being caused by wiping up stains on the coating film of a car body, and does not deteriorate the initial properties of the coating film, even when the coating film has a water-repelling property or a hydrophilic property. <P>SOLUTION: This coating film-protecting type wet cloth for washing the cars is characterized by impregnating an impregnation liquid containing a water-repelling component such as a silicone resin emulsion into a nonwoven fabric having the layer of a fiber mixture of microfibers with ordinary fibers. The weight rate of the microfibers is preferably a half or more of the rate of the ordinary fibers. An organic powder is preferably added to the impregnation liquid.
