A slit-type oxygen burner is suitable for heating the edge of a steel strip by discharging narrow long flame not circular flame and can prevent over-cooling of the steel strip edge. A slit-type oxygen burner(1) for heating the edge of a steel strip comprises a fuel injection device(10), an oxygen injection device(30), and an igniter(50). The fuel injection device includes a fuel inlet of slit shape in which fuel supplied from outside is injected, a fuel supply pipe which receives the fuel supplied through the fuel inlet, and a plurality of fuel injection holes(15) formed in the front central part in the vertical direction. The oxygen injection device includes oxygen inlets of slit shape formed on the left and right sides of the fuel injection device, an oxygen supply pipe which receives the air supplied through the oxygen inlets, and a plurality of oxygen injection holes(35) formed on the right and left sides of the fuel injection holes. The igniter is equipped on the central top or/and bottom of the fuel injection device.
