<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the moving picture responsibility is deteriorated when inserting a non light-emission period into a display area while dividing the period into a plurality of periods. <P>SOLUTION: A data amount calculation part 11 calculates the amount of an image data input to an EL driving device and determines a current consumption of an EL display device 1, a current suppression part 12 calculates a suppressed quantity of the current consumption of the EL display device based on the current consumption calculated by the data amount calculation part 11, and the non light-emission periods inserted into one vertical synchronizing period, insertion timings of the non light-emission periods and the like are determined.
