<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tilt-alignment retardation film substantially preventing alignment failure and having excellent uniformity. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a tilt-alignment retardation film includes: a step of applying a liquid crystal composition solution containing one or more polymerizable liquid crystal compounds, a leveling agent and a solvent on a substrate to form a coating layer; and a step of drying the coating layer under the condition of heat quantity Q satisfying 100<Q<300 to form a liquid crystal solidified layer with tilt alignment.
