PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision of a lug width dimension to be cut regardless of existence of a reinforcing plate, and position of the reinforcing plate. SOLUTION: When a plurality of conductors 7 aligned nearly in parallel run on a path line PL and the plurality of conductors 7 are pinched from both sides by running insulators 9, 11, laminated and manufactured into a flat cable 3, a flat cable cutting device 1 includes cutting blades 5 to cut end faces of the flat cable 3 in the width direction. Moreover, a receiver plate 13 to receive the rear face of the flat cable 3, and a pressing plate 15 to press the front face of the flat cable 3 against this receiver plate 13 are installed in order to press both front and rear faces of the flat cable on the path line PL in the front or rear of the cutting blades 5 in the running direction of the flat cable, or around the cutting blades 5.
