PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve machining accuracy of a workpiece by reducing main spindle motor vibration and noise of a main spindle head caused by rotation of a main spindle motor, and also to expand a usable rotational range of the main spindle motor that permits high accuracy machining. SOLUTION: The machine tool is equipped with an elastic member 11 sandwiched between a motor flange 9 of the main spindle motor 8 and a flange portion 7 of the main spindle head 5, and four bolt members 12 which clamp the motor flange 9 to the flange portion 7 via the elastic member 11. Bolt holes 9a of the motor flange 9 are made larger in diameter than an outside diameter of the bolt members 12. Bolt holes 11a of the elastic member 11 are internally fitted with collars 13 having the bolt members 12 externally loose-fitted therearound. By clamping the bolt members 12 so as to sandwich the collars 13 between a lower end of the motor flange 9 and the main spindle head 5, the elastic member 11 is maintained in a compressed state.
