A discharging plate operating structure of an automatic garbage collecting apparatus is provided to operate a discharging plate accurately through a simple structure without using an actuator, a single phase or a three phase AC motor which needs large power. A driving gear shaft(3) connected to a DC motor is installed at the bottom of a garbage inlet(1). A 1/4 spur gear(5) is mounted to the driving gear shaft. A support spur gear(7) is mounted on the same horizontal line with the driving gear shaft and engages with the 1/4 spur gear. A driving pin(8) adheres to the upper right side of the 1/4 spur gear. A pivot shaft(11) of an opening/closing plate(9) is installed at the upper parts of the support spur gear and the driving gear shaft. A lever(15) equipped with a guiding hole(13) is mounted on the pivot shaft. The driving pin adhering to the 1/4 spur gear is inserted into the guiding hole.
