PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain desired setting of sound and video output of an apparatus, when the power is turned on. SOLUTION: In this visual apparatus, for example, a digital television receiver, a timer reservation executing part 56 of a timer part 50 determines whether there is designation regarding the output setting, with reference to reservation information recorded in a timer information storing part 55. When there is a designation regarding the output setting, the timer reservation executing part 56 notifies a sound setting part 41 and an image quality setting part 42 of designated output setting, and the sound setting part 41 and the image quality setting part 42 change the output setting to the designated output setting.
