TRANSFER FILM FOR PAINTING AND METHOD OF PAINTING WITH TRANSFER FILM FOR PAINTING

A transfer film for painting. With this film, even a person having no experience in painting at all can conduct painting on at least a certain level after sheet metal working or a simplified repair. When partial painting is to be conducted after sheet metal working or a simplified repair, even a person poorly experienced in painting can finish the partial-painting area with the transfer film so that the boundary between the partial-painting area and peripheral areas cannot be seen. Also provided is a method of painting with the transfer film for painting. The transfer film for painting comprises: a base film; a first clear coating layer superposed on the base film and soluble in a given solvent; a color coating layer superposed on the first clear coating layer and having a multilayer structure; and a second clear coating layer superposed on the color coating layer and soluble in a given solvent. The color coating layer has a central part which corresponds to a region to be painted and is constituted of the largest number of layers, and the parts surrounding the central part constitute a color gradation part composed of a smaller number of layers than the central part.
