<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lubricant from leaking in a gear unit for a railway vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This gear unit 1 has a structure in which a pinion gear 3 formed on a pinion gear shaft 2 connected to a motor via a shaft coupling and a gear 4 attached on an axle 5 are housed in a casing 7. In this case, a labyrinth seal 14 for preventing leakage of the lubricant 17 is provided on a portion where the pinion gear shaft 2 and the axle 5 protrude through the casing 7. A guide 12aa tilting toward the casing 7 as moving toward the outside of radius direction perpendicular to the shaft core of this shaft is provided on the shaft core side of an entry 14a positioned on the casing 7. With this configuration, even if the lubricant is not completely recovered in the casing in still state, the lubricant can be prevented from permeating the labyrinth seal 14 in operation of the motor and the lubricant is prevented from leaking to the outside of the casing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
